Kevin (KAL) Kallaugher Honoured at the AAEC Convention

Baltimore-based cartoonist Kevin “KAL” Kallaugher is the 2019 recipient of the "Rex Babin Memorial Award for Excellence in Local Cartooning." 

The panel of judges also decided to name a finalist for the Babin Award for the first time, choosing Columbus cartoonist Nate Beeler.

Cartoonist Lynda Barry is one of the 26 winners of the 2019 MacArthur Foundation "genius grants,” the no-strings-attached $625,000 prizes given annually to artists, scholars and other creative thinkers, the Chicago-based philanthropy announced Wednesday.
