Clay Bennett, 2024 Pulitzer Prize Finalist

Columbia University today announced the 2024 Pulitzer Prizes, awarded on the recommendation of the Pulitzer Prize Board.

Medar de la Cruz, a New Yorker contributor, won the Illustrated Reporting and Commentary category.

The finalists were Angie Wang (contributor, The New Yorke), Claire Healy, Nicole Dungca and Ren Galeno (contributors, The Washington Post) and Clay Bennett of the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Since The Pulitzer Board has killed the Editorial Cartooning category and replaced it with the Illustrated Reporting and Commentary division they have made sure that at least one “real” editorial cartoonist has been a finalist. 

This year Clay Bennett is the only editorial cartoonist nominated in that class. So congratulations to Clay for being the best editorial cartoonist as chosen by the Pulitzer judges.
