Israeli cartoonist modifies Gaza drawing

From Alba Wafa.

Jordanian cartoonist Emad Hajjaj took to social media to decry the hijack of one of his drawings on the situation in Gaza.

Hajjaj posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that an Israeli cartoonist had taken the drawing, made a few changes and wrote near Emad Hajjaj's signature "Corrected by Uri Fink."

The Jordanian cartoonist posted: "An Israeli cartoon site hijacked one of my drawings published on X recently.

The artist Uri Fink replaced Netanyahu with a masked man and replaced the body parts with an infant.

This piracy reflects the inability of Israeli artists to create a convincing caricature idea and their failure to justify their state’s clear barbarism to the whole world."

In Emad Hajjaj's cartoon, Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, is depicted with a cleaver in one hand and the other grabbing a half-human hand.

Netanyahu was seen in the center of a session for the United Nations where many were seen setting around the Israeli prime minister.

The edited cartoon was shared on "TICP - The Israeli Cartoon Project" page on Facebook and the artist replaced Netanyahu with a masked man with a green band on his hand.

The Israeli cartoonist also replaced the hand with a crying baby.

Many comments were made on the post shared by Emad Hajjaj on his X account slamming the hijack of his cartoon.

A person wrote: "They stole a whole country, they can steal anything."

Another one posted a cartoon of the famous Israeli settler Yaqoub who once was tapped forcibly taking the house of a Palestinian family and saying: "If I don't steal it, someone else gonna steal it."
