My cartoon of Dilbert joining the hater lunch bunch at Mar-a-Lago wasn’t my first idea on the subject. 

This was my first idea. But like with a lot of first ideas for a cartoon, I figured it was too obvious and that others would do it. 

Nevertheless, I decided to share it with my readers on social media. It was posted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Truth Social, TikTok, and Tribel.

The damn thing got more likes, comments, and shares than the better cartoon, but that’s social media for ya. Several hours later, it got me another 30-day suspension.

Boris receives prize for humanitarian work

Montreal Gazette political cartoonist Jacques Goldstyn, better known as Boris, received this week  the Artist for Peace Award, granted by the École nationale de l’humour.

The artist, who became the first cartoonist to win the award on Tuesday, believes everyone can play a part in social change.

Christopher Weyant recalls the Boston cartoon that changed everything

Christopher Weyant has not just one, but two of the best jobs in cartooning.

First off, he’s a New Yorker cartoonist, where he’s spent 25 years making light of, well, anything and everything, including current events for the Daily Cartoon on the magazine’s website. That’s where he did a cartoon about Boston that became the New Yorker’s most shared cartoon ever up to that point.

He’s also an editorial cartoonist, often for The Boston Globe, skewering the powerful and pointing out the absurdity that seems to run more and more rampant in the halls of power these days. It’s a dichotomy Weyant says he relishes.

Chris Browne, long time cartoonist of Hägar the Horrible, has died

Chris Browne, the continuing cartoonist of the popular ongoing syndicated comic strip  Hägar the Horrible – and son of the series’ original creator Dik Browne – has died following a long illness. 

He was 70 years old. The news broke mere days after the strip passed its landmark fiftieth anniversary.
