Remembering Jeff MacNelly

From Gary Brookins' Facebook page.

Jeff MacNelly, editorial cartoonist at The Chicago Tribune, passed away at age 52 twenty years ago.

Jeff won three Pulitzer Prizes for editorial cartooning (he was the youngest ever to win, his first at age 24), two Reuben Awards for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year from the National Cartoonists Society, and, well, a whole pickup truck full of other awards and honors.

He also was the creator of the comic strip "Shoe" and the cartoon panel "Pluggers."
