Ann Telnaes & Liza Donnelly Exhibition in Switzerland

From Maison du dessin de presse.

This exhibition highlights the work of two leading American cartoonists, Ann Telnaes and Liza Donnelly, whose incisive and committed drawings offer a powerful perspective on the place of women in society.

Through their caricatures and illustrations, they denounce inequality, defend women's rights, and question power dynamics with humor and insight.

Between satire and activism, their works demonstrate the essential role of cartoons in the fight for equality and freedom of expression.

"Ink & Insight: 20 Years of Adam Zyglis Cartoons" Exhibition

From the Buffalo History Museum

For the past two decades, Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist Adam Zyglis has created more than 4,000 pieces of visual commentary for The Buffalo News, keeping his pen on the pulse of local, national, and international news.

Zyglis has carried on this important tradition of free expression, after his Pulitzer-winning predecessors Tom Toles and Bruce Shanks, with a focus on comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable.

Day in and day out, Zyglis has employed wit, biting satire, and caricature to direct our attention to hard truths and injustice, with the ultimate goal of pushing society forward.

This 20-year retrospective collection of dozens of his cartoons, spans four presidents and five governors.

A review of Angouleme '24

Dean Simons in Comics Beat.

If there is one thing you can guarantee about the Angoulême International Comics Festival, it’s that you will seldom have enough time to catch your breath – and that remained true for 2024.

While comparatively quieter than the intense record-breaking crowds of the 50th-anniversary extravaganza last year, some 200,000 people still made their way to the self-proclaimed French capital of comics.

As always, there were plentiful exhibitions, publishers, creators, and books to catch your eye and empty your wallet.
