Art Spiegelman, the legendary graphic novelist behind Maus, has claimed that he was asked to remove criticism of Donald Trump from his introduction to a forthcoming Marvel book, because the comics publisher – whose chairman has donated to Trump’s campaign – is trying to stay “apolitical”.

Ed Hall is reporting this syndicated cartoon about the Trump/Netanyahu confrontation with two U.S. Congresswomen denying them entry into Israel has been removed from Facebook.

Once again a social media behemoth has conflated legitimate criticism of something with the thing itself.

Edmonton Journal under fire for "anti-Semitic" cartoon

The Edmonton Journal is under fire for publishing a cartoon that many believe is anti-Semitic.

On Aug. 1, the Journal ran an editorial cartoon by veteran contributor Malcolm Mayes, which criticized the recent Capital One hack in which the data of six million Canadians was potentially compromised, including social insurance numbers and bank account information.

Instagram Deletes Then Restores a Matt Bors Cartoon


Instagram deletes a Matt Bors political cartoon criticizing white supremacy & violence for ... espousing violence and violating their community standards.

After Rolling Stone wrote about it, the cartoon was restored to his social media feed.
