Angel Boligán was born in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba in 1965 and has resided in México since 1992 . 
Founder of the agency Cartónclub, Club de la Caricatura Latina, he is a member of the organization Cartooning for Peace. 

He publishes his artwork in the Mexican newspaper El Universal , the magazine Foreign A ffairs Latinoamerica, the Newspaper La Nación in Argentina, and many others. 

His work has been awarded three times with the Premio Nacional de Periodismo (National Journal Award) in Mexico, the award La Catrina given in the FIL (International Book Fair) in Guadalajara, Mexico, and more than 190 international awards such as the Grand Prix in the World Press Cartoon of 2006 and the Grand Prix on the 36th International Nasreddin Hodja in Istanbul, Turkey, 2016.
