From The Daily Cartoonist.
The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists has organized a GoFundMe page to help Clay Jones recover from his stroke with medical and rehab expenses.
Clay Jones is probably the hardest working cartoonist in the biz, if not the most passionate. He is a determined champion of political cartooning and its unique ability to challenge beliefs, ridicule authority, and often provide a laugh.
Clay recently had a stroke that has partially paralyzed his right side, including his drawing hand. As a freelancer and self-syndicator, Clay’s income is entirely dependent on himself. And, as an American, he will be facing some significant medical care and rehab costs.
There is no doubt that Clay is going to do his part to get back to the drawing board (well, technically, drawing tablet). In the meantime, he’s going to need your help.
As mentioned above Clay is self-syndicated so has no distribution service backing him and no company benefits. He will have to rely on his own medical care, disability insurance, and our help to get him through these rough times until he is back on his feet and recoups his abilities and clientele.
Whatever you can afford to give will be greatly appreciated.

Clay, with the help of an “MacBook speaker microphone thingy,” has a few words.
First, I wanna say thank you to everyone who has expressed support, prayers, grief, or anything else about my situation. Your support means a lot to me so thank you very much. It’s amazing to discover that so many people care about me.
To everyone who has supported me financially, thanks big time I want to write to everyone individually to express the support, but only half of my body is broken right now.
I am dictating this blog into my MacBook speaker microphone thingy, and that alone was a pain in the ass, so if you see any mistakes, you’re just gonna have to live with it. Everything is a pain in the ass…
UPDATE
The Clay Jones GoFundMe account, set up by fellow editorial cartoonists Kevin Necessary and Jack Ohman to help with medical expenses as Clay recovers from his recent stroke, has reached half of its $100,000 goal. (October 18)
