The Danish newspaper Jyllands-posten will not apologize for having published a drawing combining the coronavirus and the Chinese flag.
In a statement released on January 27, 2020, the Chinese embassy in Denmark demands an apology from the daily Jyllands-posten, one of the country's main newspapers.

National Archives altered Trump signs in Women's March photo

The National Archives acknowledged this week that it altered a photograph of the Women's March, which took place the day after President Trump's inauguration in 2017, to blur some signs held by marchers that were critical of the president.
Among the alterations are the blotting out of the word "Trump" in a placard that reads "God Hates Trump" and the blurring of the same word in another sign that reads "Trump & GOP - Hands Off Women." Words on other signs referencing female anatomy were also altered.

Kevin Necessary Lands a Gig at the Enquirer

On Friday afternoon Ohio cartoonist Kevin Necessary announced on Twitter he had been hired by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
“I’m grateful I’ve had the opportunity over the last several years to create local editorial cartoons in Cincinnati. This city was lucky to have Jim Borgman. I’m going to try to honor his legacy with these weekly cartoons in The Enquirer."

Is this the future of editorial cartooning?
Some believe that editorial cartoons could be replaced by memes. The problem is that their creators remain anonymous and don't credit the original photographer.
It could therefore be expensive to publish them and risk prosecution for copyright infringement.

The members of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists have voted for their new Executive Board. Jen Sorensen is now President-elect and Tim Campbell has been chosen Director.
Tim has been elected for a 2-year term, and Jen will step up to President in January 2021.
Elected to another term and returning to the Board are Mike Thompson (Vice President), Monte Wolverton (Treasurer) and Liza Donnelly (Director). They’ll be joining current members Ed Hall (Director), Pat Bagley (Past President) and Kevin Siers (President) as they enter the second year of their terms.
