World Press Cartoon 2012

The winners of World Press Cartoon 2012:

The ex aequo Grand Prize winners were Egyl Nyhus of Norway with a caricature of Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Ares from Cuban with a drawing about US military interventions.

First Prize: "Strauss Kahn", Egil Nyhus, Norway

Second Prize: "The Windsor Brothers", Javier Carbajo, Spain

Third Prize: "Berlusconi", Riber Hansson, Sweden

Second Prize: "Blackberry leading the people", David Vela, Spain

Third Prize: "Cutlery", Goran Divac, Serbia


First Prize: "Ecology", Pavel Constantin, Romania

Second Prize: "X-Ray", Omar Figueroa Turcios, Colombia

Third Prize: "African Child", Agim Sulai, Albania

The 2012 Jury: (from left to right) Jean Mulatier (France), Liza Donnelly (USA), Peter Nieuwendijk (Nederlands), António Antunes (Portugal) and Fernando Puig Rosado (Spain). The trophies were distributed on April 20th, during a special ceremony at the Olga Cadaval Cultural Center in Sintra.
