Mike Ramirez Takes up the Bill Clinton ‘Hillary Cartoon’ Challenge

Bill Clinton’s address to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week was supposed to humanize Hillary, make her more relatable, and shift the focus away from her perpetual lies and scandals.

According to Bill, Hillary’s detractors create false impressions.

“So your only option is to create a cartoon, a cartoon alternative, then run against the cartoon,” he said. “Cartoons are two-dimensional, they’re easy to absorb.”

Political cartoonist Michael Ramirez decided the words “your only option is to create a cartoon” constituted a challenge, and he accepted.

More Than 40 Artists and Designers Accuse Zara of Plagiarism

A week ago, Los Angeles-based artist Tuesday Bassen posted a photo on Instagram contrasting her original designs for pins and patches with alleged ripoffs sold by Zara, the international clothing brand.

The products were nearly identical, featuring heart-shaped lollipops and rubber erasers. Bassen’s post went viral, and now, more than 40 independent artists and designers have come forward accusing Zara of plagiarism.

World Press Cartoon 2016 Update

World Press Cartoon announced on director's Antonio Antunes Facebook account that, due to difficulties encountered by their major sponsor, the annual event will take a pass on its' 2016 edition. 

The organizers will concentrate their efforts on realizing World Press Cartoon 2017.
