Bill Sanders 1930-2021

Former Milwaukee Journal political cartoonist William (Bill) Sanders died Saturday at the age of 90. 

Sanders was a thorn in the side of politicians locally, especially Milwaukee Mayor Henry Maier, but presidents from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump also felt the heat from his pen.

BICLM becomes Ohio's first historic journalism site

The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum (BICLM) has been recognized as the first Ohio historic journalism site selected by the Society of Professional Journalists, Central Ohio Professional Chapter (SPJ) and the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism.

Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year: 2013 Edition



The "Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year: 2013 Edition" should now be in bookstores. The yearly retrospective of cartoons drawn by members of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists was initiated by the late Charles Brooks some 40 years ago, but with his passing last year, the franchise is now edited by editorial cartoonist Steve Kelley. You can order the book online.

Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year: 2012 Edition

The 2012 edition of Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year is now in bookstores.

Sadly, it also marks both the death of its' editor as well as former Hamilton Spectator cartoonist Blaine who had drawn some years ago the caricature of Charles Brooks on the back-cover of the book.
